How do I sell wholesale to cafes and stockists?
Turn on Wholesale Ordering, which is part of the Business plan. Your trade customers get a private ordering area separate from the public storefront. They sign in with a code emailed to them, see the prices attached to their own account rather than your retail prices, and can place an order on invoice terms instead of paying at checkout.
A tag is a price list
Wholesale pricing in ibakepro hangs off customer tags. Tag an account "cafe" and it pays cafe prices everywhere it shops. A tag carries a default percentage off your retail price, per-product overrides where that default is wrong and quantity breaks, so a stockist taking a full tray pays less per unit than one taking six.
The price sheet you look at is always exactly what checkout charges, so what the sheet says and what the customer is charged cannot drift apart. One trap the software will warn you about at the point of entry: setting a fixed tier price on a product that has a price range makes every variant of it cost that amount, which is rarely what you meant.
You can also set minimum order quantities, per product and per variant, and stamp a single minimum across the whole catalogue in one pass. The sweep covers every product, not just the page you are looking at, and you can preview the counts before anything is written.
Ordering on terms rather than paying at checkout
A wholesale payment method can carry net terms. When it does, the whole order total falls due a set number of days after the order is placed, written onto the order as a one-row payment schedule exactly like any other. That is the useful part: an unpaid trade invoice is not a separate kind of record, so it shows up in the same due and overdue reporting as a retail balance, and the same reminders apply. The mechanics are the same ones behind deposits and payment plans.
Seeing which side of the business is growing
Wholesale revenue reports by tag. Each order is attributed to exactly one tag, the first eligible one it carries, so tag revenue always sums to your total with no order counted twice. Orders that match no wholesale tag fall into an untagged bucket rather than being quietly dropped, and cancelled and refunded orders are excluded.
Where this does not apply
- Wholesale Ordering is Business only. On Essentials or Growth you can still serve a trade customer by building the order yourself and sending an invoice, but you do not get the self-serve area or automatic tier pricing.
- A tag with no price list attached is only a label. Tagging an account "cafe" changes nothing until that tag has a discount or overrides on it.
- Deliveries are a separate question. If trade orders mean a delivery run most mornings, see planning an efficient delivery run.
